About Nature and Ecology Museum.

Nature and Ecology Museum was opened on September 3, 2005.
The exposition of the museum is located in the building of the former water tower, built in 1953. The height of the building is 32.7 m, diameter is 8 m. The exposition area is 300 square meters, more than a thousand items of natural history collection are exhibited there.
The epigraph to the exposition of the museum was the words of Yuri Bondarev: "Environmental consciousness is a staircase that connects the Earth, Heaven and Man into a single union."
Four exposition levels of the museum are "strung" on the stairs, symbolizing the Tree of Life.
The idea of the World Tree is one of the oldest in the world. According to Slavic mythology, the Tree of Life stands on the outskirts of the Universe (near Lukomorye), its top rests on the heavens, and the roots reach the underworld. The gods descend and ascend along this tree, and through it one can penetrate into other worlds. This idea expressed the connection between man and the universe, the meaning of his earthly and divine nature.
Traveling up the spiral staircase of Nature and Ecology Museum allows us to look into various "worlds" of nature and ecology, to rise to the top of ecological consciousness.
The first level - "Belarus is our home" tells about the biological diversity and the uniqueness of the nature of Belarus.
The second level - "Dowry to Civilization" introduces the environmental problems of the modern city.
The third level - "Protected areas" tells about reserves and natural monuments, species listed in the Red Book.
On the fourth level, there is a cinema-lecture and an exhibition hall, as well as an observation deck with a magnificent view of the city.
